When I first met Maddie & Sandy I was helping them design their wedding for 200 guests. Like many other couples were forced to do this past summer, we canceled the large celebration and started planning a much smaller ceremony and reception.
They found the sweetest VRBO with the most beautiful gardens and were even able to keep the original date.
In keeping with the Covid regulations, tables were placed 6 feet apart and guests were seated with family members they had already been quarantined with.
Each table received a custom basket from the caterers with smoked salmon, pickled vegetables, fruit, cheeses and different kinds of jam. The bread was baked by the caterers as well as using all local, handmade ingredients. It was a farm to table feast!
All of the details were personal and extremely meaningful. Sandy’s best man designed & handcrafted the chuppah. The cloth covering the chuppah was handmade and used by Maddie’s parents and grandparents. Maddie’s cousin Sarah officiated the wedding and helped them honor Jewish Traditions in a modern way. Their friend Jen designed the wedding crest and Morgan (another friend) designed the rings.
From the bride “I married my person, in front of the people I love most, in a gorgeous garden. It wasn’t what we had planned but it was perfect in a different way.”
One thing that came out of this Covid situation was the opportunity to get to know Maddie and Sandy even better! Maddie is super bubbly and sees the good in everything. Sandy has a quiet demeanor, he’s funny and cool and I am so thankful to have met them!
